[02] There’s Safety in Sisterhood.

I recently shared a spoken word piece at a Women's Conference called "The Table." It invited women to sit in God's presence and know there is room in His kingdom. It was a full-circle moment because I, too, was blessed to experience biblical sisterhood and grow in womanhood.

I am no stranger to walking with women and being united by Christ, but that wasn't always my story.  There was a season when I wasn't open to friendship until the Lord softened my heart. I know hardship and hurt can deter you from experiencing the fullness of God's kingdom if you choose to cling to it instead of Him. But if you allow God to work in you, you will find that people are waiting to love you. They are praying to walk with you - as you pursue Christ.

Sisterhood has purified and humbled me. I've benefited from a harvest because of women who labored in the faith long before I chose to follow Jesus. Their love, wisdom, and stewardship are proof of God's intentionality, protection, and desire for us to live an abundant life—not in isolation but in community.

In sisterhood,

There is joy and grief.

Tears and laughter.

Breaking and building.

Reconciliation and fruitfulness.

Most importantly, there is a foundation and room for everyone to be and become who God intended. Sisterhood does not require perfection but rather your participation. It is a vehicle God can use to unveil the brokenness He wants to redeem and a mirror to remind you of His beauty and yours.

The truth is:

I am a woman—one who is redeemed and sits among them. I am no perfect friend or sister. My journey in friendship is a reflection of God's grace and love. He gifted me with people to do life with.

If you're seeking sisterhood, rest assured - God can provide. Stay encouraged, friend.
